Script Surgeries

Hi - thought this might be of interest to people on this site.

This is a posting from the Arts Council England "arts news" mailing list. Please send any response direct to the sender rather than replying to the list itself.
----------
A new series of script surgeries is being launched to help independent producers, directors and writers to workshop their material.

Intermedia, the borough's arts and creative industries team, will be running six 'Script Surgeries' so that people from the worlds of film and TV, radio, theatre and commercials can see their work performed by actors, and get advice and feedback from established BBC writers. The 4-day surgeries will also look at areas like pitching, the commissioning process, and the advantages and disadvantages of bringing in stars.

The first Script Surgery will focus on radio drama and will take place August 23-26, 4.00-6.00pm, at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith. Future surgeries will look at TV drama, radio and TV sitcom, theatre, feature films and, lastly, film and TV commercials.

The Script Surgery are open to people living or working in Hammersmith & Fulham, Brent and Ealing, and the cost of a 4-day course is £10.

To apply for the radio drama course, send a CV and 2 scenes from your radio play (plus a stamped addressed envelope if you want your work
returned) to: Jo Erickson, Intermedia, 2nd Floor, Apex Court, Woodger Road, London W12 8NW.

For more information contact Intermedia on 020 8735 4192.
