On The Run

A rivetting book by Gregg & Gina Hill, children of Henry Hill. You remember HH from Goodfellas? He was the one who "ratted" on all his "wiseguy" mates and went into the Witness Protection Programme. If you've seen the film you'll probably recall that it ended with a scene of him living in suburbia, picking up the newspaper from the front lawn.

Well in real life it was nothing like that. According to Gregg & Gina he was a real arsehole. The first quarter of the book describes life before they went into the WPP. He dealt drugs from their home and had porn star parties around the house. This is the atmosphere that the kids grew up around.

But once in the WPP he got worse. An alcoholic junkie prone to irrational outbursts of violence against his own family. His behaviour attracted attention from the sources and he put their lives at risk countless times.

Totally rivetting.
