Damsel in Distress!!!
Hi,
Would really really love the help and inspiration of anyone willing!
I'm a fourth year uni student doing a Creative Writing dissertation on childrens/teenage fiction.
My creativity has run dry.....anyone want to shoot ideas my way?
I'll do anything!!!!!
Thank you
xx

Get yourself a copy of S.E Hintons 'The Outsiders' and 'Rumblefish' and walk with a strut.
That will sort you out.
Ralph
a strut? is that going to get me a First eh?
doubt it but i'll give it a go!
cheers
Minty
Once you have read these brilliant books about dissaffected teenagers a first will be the last thing on your mind.
The best childrens books I have ever read and great film translations as well.
Ralph
I remember reading Jules Verne's books, and Norhoff & Hall (Mutiny on the Bounty and botany Bay), things like that. And of course to prove I was cool, I carrie around one or more of Ian Flemmings James Bond books and the Essential Lenny Bruce. My parents never bought me regular childrens books, like The Hardy Boys.
Is this the kind of thing your looking for? Somehow I doubt it.
I heartily suggest Ian Fleming's "The Girl, The Gold Watch and Everything."
Minty - tell us some more of what you want on teenage/childrens writing. We'll all try to help!
Meanwhile, go and have a look at youngABCtales.com. There's some great stuff going on there and it's so raw it makes you really jump. Try it out!
Minty,
Are you looking for something that a teenager would want to read, or something that features teenagers/adolescents as the main characters?
