Writing choices

I've put on a few fiction stories, but my 'bent' is towards techbical non-fiction as can be seen by my short stories. Do people want non-fiction these days? Or is it too 'specialist'? (See my content.)

Or even 'technical'......ooopss!

Agreed, bbanyard. I think the main factor which distinguishes pieces which get a large amount of reads from those that don't is the quality of the writing and the quantity of the text. Realistically, most people's lifestyles  (probably) won't allow them to read pages and pages of text even if they want to, or if it's good writing. I think the main thing to be aware of is that you just keep in mind to trim your text instalments appropriately if you ever choose to post novels and/or long texts on the site.

I agree with Bb about 'anything and everything'.  I do not have one set style of writing I have a bash at writing on anything that takes my fancy and stylistically it's anywhichway it works for me. What I find liberating about Abc is that there may well be at least one person who likes something in each piece I write and I read a complete mixture of writing here.

Facts can be fun and I also like experimental writing. Often what interests the most is not whether I think a piece of work is 'good' though that can be a positive thing,my interest lies in what I think the writer is trying to do. Also I like writing where some of the piece is reasonably cheerful. All the best       Elsie
