The Essence of Life
By Baker Street
Life is a miracle whichever way you look at it. From the simplest of organisms to the mighty elephant and whale there are millions of diverse species. From the trees and the grass on the plains to the moss and ferns that grow in the darkest of valleys; it permeates all. It is a phenomenon that we cannot truly grasp let alone explain. It is the beauty and mystery of these living beings that make it all a tapestry of magic. As the one organism dies so another is brought into existence in the never-ending spiral of life. It grows and alters in accordance with the changes of nature. Every life-form and individual that has ever existed is entirely unique and there can be none other like it in all of existence. Where this essence of life goes when we give our last breath we can only speculate, but the fact remains that this miracle which was my life, is never to be repeated and belonged to me alone to be lived out as I wish. It is this individuality that makes us understand the purpose and meaning of it all. Without life we would be dead planets spinning around dead suns. Science seems predictable but the essence of life is not; it has a way of its own. Like a river it finds its own course to the sea and overcomes all obstacles in its path. Magic is not a party trick, but it lies in the true mystery of our human nature, and the whole experience of life. We are one with the universe and the origin of all of existence. We are that spark of magic in the machine, and without us the cosmos would be without a soul. We are the dream that has come awake and the mystery which is our inner being shall overcome all. Peace to all men and all living creatures. Our journey has just begun.
