THE SEA HORSE SWAM
The sea-horse swam through enchanted waters
of knights and castles and mermen’s' daughters,
of deep-sea battles for deep-sea gold,
through coral cities, pale and old.
The sea-horse swam in a silver light
like a star that burst on a starless night.
Silver mail and silver chain,
bound for a quest on the Spanish Main.
Bound to a world of deep-sea stories,
spells and storms and sunken glories.
The sea-horse swam for the mermen’s' daughters
believing in enchanted waters.
