4 Way Stop

I'd like to be the guy standing at a four way stop sign. I point to the driver who is the next one to go through the intersection. Let's face, every so often we arrive at the same time at the same place as three other people. Who gets to go first? If it's dead heat....the one who is right goes ahead. Right is a direction rather than a political stance. If we make sure that we're right before we go ahead we could count down on the number of t-bone collisions that occur when somebody is trying to save two seconds and ends up costing somebody else their lives.
Meanwhile, I'm standing at the crossroads of Merchants Road and Wisconsin Street...soaking up some rays and visiting with the pedestrians who always get the right of way as they are moving the slowest and are the most vulnerable, made of flesh and bone rather than steel and rust.
I believe that most people will wait their turn, some will wait even longer than they need tyo as they are those who proceed with caution and treat others the way that the others would like to be treated.
I'm gonna take down the license numbers of anybody who fails to come to a complete stop evenif they are the only ones in the intersection at the time. I've got a direct line to the motor vehicle department and I am authorized to inform them of any infraction. If the infractor can prove that they are in an emergency situation, they can be forgiven if they can provide an affadavit.
If I can avoid one case of road rage or one t bone, than my time is worth the effort. We need to be pro-active in our prevention so a day when nothing happens is a successful day not only for me but for everybody who makes it through the four way stop without regret or even memory.

There is the following situation
There is the following situation, motor car hijackings and car robbery commonplace, every day. Let's say you come home from work at 2am you worked late. Streets dead quiet. Do you stop at the red robot (traffic light?) Do you? No. Technically it is a crime, in practice, no, it is stupid..
Anyway I usually tried to slow down a bit.
Good luck. Tom
