Glork recalled his breath holding contest against Gambar. Glork had learned from his own near death experience how long Gambar was able to hold his breath.
After consuming knowledge and noticing the reaction of the Islanders on the boat to Gambar's return from the depths, Dark became absolutely convinced that Gambar had risen from the dead.
The skin boat was closer to Damascus than anyone knew.
And the boat was loaded with relics and saints.
Dark noted the Islander possessing the part of Paul known as experience.
Dark noted Gambar staring at wisdom.
Dark looked at the rock that had been attached to Gambar when Gambar was thrown off the boat. Dark named the rock.
The rock was called responsibility.
Dark looked at the rope that had been tied to the rock that had been tied to Gambar when Gambar was thrown from the boat and drowned which was the very same rope that had been used to haul Gambar back to the surface after he had returned from the dead.
Dark named the rope.
The rope was named destiny.
One of the islanders used his knife to separate responsibility from destiny.
Dark instructed that Islander to "wear the belt of destiny"
The islander obeyed.
This was the beginning of faith.

The muscular Islander obeyed.
Dark realized that faith felt a lot like power.
