Carolina Blue

I've complained about the weather down South for the past three months. It's been relentlessly hot and humid. They tell me when I come from up North, I should never complain about the weather even when Fall came and went with a minimum of color changes that made me long for Autumn in New York.
Today, I'm gonna change my tune. Today is Veteran's Day and it's beautiful outside. I can go for a walk without sweating through my shirt. Today is a Rochester respite day in September which means that today I'm glad to be in North Carolina rather than New York. The weather down here is about to get better whereas up North, it's already taken a turn for the worse with Arctic blasts already in season.
The sky is Carolina blue rather than Rochester gray. People are out and about not preparing for hibernation. My doctor advised me that my health would improve with a move down South, that my Vitamin D deficiency would disappear. We're all Vitamin D deficient in Rochester as Rochester gets the least amount of sun than any city in the country. My disposition as well as the disposition of my wife has become sunny.
I watch the national weather patterns. Most of the nightmares pass through Rochester where we learned to grin and bear them before quarantining ourselves for 3-4 months only getting out for work, emergencies and shoveling. When we're out we're pissed off and wishing we were somewhere else.
Now that I'm somewhere else, I find that I'm somebody else with an extra bounce in my giddyap. Yeah, I could be one of those who tells everybody up North how nice it is down here but I refrain. I'm not that guy.
Or am I?
