He got him some cigars and some scratches
For the price of a Yankee Budweiser.
Some chips full of horses and radishes
To remember a birthing, oh yes sir.
A sixty eight short of ten thousand bucks
Only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades
On the table quacks a pond full of ducks
Colliding, riding in in rolling parade.
Mary arrived at midnight with headphones
Tuned into and through heartbeat melody
Passing through twilight and temperate zones
Breathing hello to her mother and she
Pardons him for his inebriation.
She figures he's earned his celebration
