Craving Lilac Language

It's all about the writing isn't it? And writing is all about identifying words that stay as opposed to words that disappear...the spoken words, the directions, diatribes, apologies, promises, biases, second guesses, exclamations, rants, riddles, curses and verses that arrive with appropriate adrenalin and depart with proportional resonance.
Not the writing....thew writing stays.
We can look at our writing day after day and marvel at the changes in our lives and our fluctuating ability to capture those changes with our choice of words that stay.
On our best days we crave which means we write with coherence, rigor, authenticity, validity and engagement...not necessarily in that order. When we crave as writers, we temporarily satisfy the craving of our readers which is after all one of our great creative purposes (along with therapy, healing, compulsion, revenge, romance and obsession). Our readers come back for more and we return to write another day, to live another day and to record the evidence of our living in the words that stay even if the life we record is not our own but only one that we imagine.
Other days, sadness overwhelms beauty
we stand outside the garden gates
listening to lions roar within
and we yearn
for the language of lilacs
that we can no longer speak
when we leave
coherence out of crave
then we rave
like these words
for one example
and I could go on
God only knows
How far I could go
