Him and I

"Him and I"
I just heard it again.
A cluck from an eggless hen
Who in mindless devotion
Commits poultry in motion
"Him and I"
I can't be shy
I wonder why
everybody says "Him and I"
It's even worse than " He and me"
which at least rhymes
And even "these are them".
Which I hear from time to time.
Somewhere in the past
An old fart became aghast
When someone said "me" instead of "I"
Without knowing the grammatical reason why,
" I is always better than me
Me is for coneheads 'cross the sea"
Thus eliminating an elective
By confusing nominative with objective
yet managing to speak with fowl precision
Until running run into a rooster who listens.
