Loosening Gordian Knots

With each reinvented year
The passing of each day
Increases in significance
if not sound and fury.
Some might say
That I wasted today
Sitting stock still
On the couch in my cave
neither timid nor brave
Witnessing second hand
Whatever lies we'll believe
That will go down as history
I better trust the sights that I see
Rather than the sights that I hear
Someone else says they saw
On Napoleonic days
Of silence, tranquility
and significance.
Such as today.
