A Matter of Trust

After he killed the kid in Cujo, I lost faith in King. Lost faith is not a deterrent to habit. I kept reading Stephen another 35 times. I remember several of them clearly. Thinner, Gerald's Game, Needful Things, Misery and the Bachman Books. All the rest more or less forgettable except for three that I remember only because how much I disliked them; It, Tommy Knockers and Duma Key.
42 books.
Those 42 nearly equal in total all of the books I have read by Kurt Vonnegut, John Steinbeck, Vladimar Nabokov, Joseph Heller, Sinclair Lewis, Jane Austen,Herman Melville, Harper Lee, JD Salinger, Ernest Hemmingway, Thomas Wolfe, Charles Dickens, Leo Tolstoy, Margaret Mitchell, Fyodor Dosteovsky, Mary Shelley, Truman Capote, Bernard Malamud,, George Orwell, Tom Wolfe,, Mark Twain, Henry James, Gabriel Garcia Marquez,Michael Chabon and Gilian Flynn.
Hmmmm
Something seems wrong about that equation.
Perhaps this is why I'm in the Cazenovia Institution.
My values are a little off.
If I had to choose King or all the others, I would choose the Others. Big time.
Maybe I wouldn't be here if I had.
We are what we read.
I no longer trust myself.
My next book will be The Institute by Stephen King.
Maybe I can relate but I doubt it.
The guy is still ripping me off.
