I'm listening to my muse sighing lies
A voice so sweet could never tell the truth
So if my typing takes you by surprise
Or illuminates the notions of youth
Be patient with the liberty I take
Interpreting these shortwaves to my heart.
Her song momentarily stops the ache
Thrusts it headfirst into obscure art
Not yes or no but ancient and true
Verse ricochets through my solar system
Until it finally gets home to you
Passing off with point guard precision
Through that danger zone of grinning willows
To the safe harbor, your dreams and pillows.

A beautiful, deft musing on the nature of inspiration. Very enjoyable.
