Siituations tend to happen, slowly, slowly, slowly and then suddenly.
Even in Wisconsin.
Even in Green Bay.
It was fifteen years before Finn Anderson discovered that his wife Sylvia was working on a thesis and had been working on it every day for a long, long time.
This is/was Sylvia's thesis.
Finn Anderson is an asshole.
Sylvia's thesis like many similar theses always in construction had four parts to it: 1) ADDICTION 2) ADULTERY 3) ABUSE and 4) ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT.
Sylvia had heard about this thesis from her other "friends" in regard to their husbands. The first three sections were comon and maybe even legal. Number 4 was the pride of Sylvia. Maybe it wasn't legal but it sure was as lethal to Finn as it was evident
Finn had to sort all of this out without a guide or a blue print.
Eventually he came to figure it out.
ADDICTION referred to everything Finn liked that Sylvia didn't and spending money on it.
ADULTERY referred to all relationships or even transactions that if for any time at all (even moments) had placed more attention on any other person other than Sylvia. If the person gaining the attention happened to be female, the adultery was doubled.
ABUSE referred to whatever behavior Finn used in those infrequent moments when he got all "defensive" under Sylvia's questioning.
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT referred to the umbrella that included everything in Finn's past which included all the friends, all the family members, all of the beliefs, all of affections and affectations that Finn manifested before Sylvia.
The Green Bay Packers fit into every category.
Sundays were arrows in Sylvia's Quiver.
Beer, buddies, back talk at least.
All to be discussed, organized and recorded on Monday and replayed all week and all month and all year.
