ASPIRATIONS FROM AFAR
With heavy steps I climb into my empty bed,
my heart heavy with the thought of you,
my body aching from the want of yours
Head spinning, paralytic, drunk on love,
as an intense hunger builds up inside
For so long now, I've been pinning you from afar,
my devotion to you being endless
I crave your heart, your soul,
like the sea, waves crashing down constantly,
relentlessly, with so much passion and force
I would give up my life for you
Sometimes, my eyes turn towards the sky,
be it calm and blue, or stormy and dull
and I try to reach it, to touch it?
but I never do, just like my longing for you,
the longing for a brush of a kiss, a look
Like a saint, I stand at your feet and worship
Sand grains, each one forming a heartbeat,
and every grain of a heartbeat,
forming the love I feel so true
I'd take delight in holding you close,
whispering sweet nothings in your ear,
hearing your sweet voice speak my name?
But alas! I look on love sick and thirsty,
dreaming of you from afar
A fire in my heart burns furiously,
craving every part of you from my inside out,
wishing of what could be, what should be,
lost on thoughts of my true love and I
