Who is Man that God Should Die

A baby born in Bethlehem and all the nations’ rage,
God comes down the Lion and the Lamb.
Darkness is disturbed as Light is threatening to break,
the Boy grows up to be His Father’s son.
What has been and what will be,
the currency reveals,
hearts are opened up unto the blade.
The soul of man the precipice,
the faith that’s in His grace,
and all the time the love that never fades.
Judas counting pennies while the crowd all gathers round,
neglects to notice Jesus with a child.
Herod is reclining in a stately marble hall,
Pilate is about to wash his hands.
And the Universe is turning,
while the God Man walks the earth,
the heat, the dust the blue Judean sky.
The Cross is standing tall,
and beckons Death upon the stage,
while Heaven’s silence is the loudest cry.
Who is man that God should die?
What is love that costs so much?
When we’re so blind to the Saviour’s blood,
when we’re so blind to His love.
To some it is a tragedy to some the way to life,
darkness is amazed and traumatised.
The Spirit born in everyone who believes that Jesus died,
rose again and reigns as King on High.
And when the truth is smiling and the veil is torn away,
and hearts revealed as broken and forlorn.
He will enter in and heal the places where you hide,
make Him Lord and you will be reborn.
