In between the moondrop blessed land and dream rich sky a lone train shoots through uninhibited by any opposing force. It’s foremost light pierces across in traditional bullet style acceleration. Off either to it’s left or right animals wandered about in search of whatever they deemed a necessity. Two fauna in particular were meandering their way along some nearby mountain path. Both parties wore heavy in dirt, more so with canine fur over his feline companion. “Why don’t we latch onto that train? From what I’ve heard they’re all going the same direction.”, said the dog. His feline companion takes a good look at said train.
“Probably not a good idea.”
“Why not?”
“My footing isn’t so great, paired with your weight we’d be dead on impact.”
“Oh…”, the canine looks at his friend. It’s very evident he wasn’t ecstatic about his situation. “You’re still upset about my blunder? I’m sorry your plan didn’t work out Phalanx.”, this sentence incites a sigh from the feline.
“I’m not upset, just disappointed. I really thought this time around we’d get lucky in our escapade.”, his gaze ascends into the stars above, “Every round we go against the odds something messes with us. And it frustrates me!”, he stomps a paw into gravel. “I go through so much planning and it amounts to recoil. Do you...think we'll find them? Our new owners that'll actually care for us?", the dog barely takes a moment before settling beside his friend.
"Of course we will! We've already traveled halfway across the state. That's further in comparison to any other creature I've ever heard of, especially before you!"
"Thanks, Orwell.", Phalanx merely looks on towards infinity. Stars overhead replay memories of his past life. Each in regards to blurriness aided his presently falling tears. On his droopy muzzle light catches his attention. Some ways away fireflies not previously seen begin nightly excursions amidst healthy evergreens. With a smile Phalanx began a song, "Night day aside, stars are always visible from where I stand.
Down every road you find once again another fight.
More often than not you find yourself amidst the battlefield.
All along how difficult this way I've chosen feels.
Should it be noted as such?
For to whidst I'll just follow my heart.", it's now he finally notices his friend being absent. From afar heavy pawsteps signal untouched happiness. Both parties gather together near a ridge. Off a ways in the distance lay numerous towers with lights adorning them in gemstone regalia. The duo smiles.
"All along this path we're not going to miss out on the view!
Every little piece matters when you make up the whole picture.
Be it small victories or defeats, every little thing matters in the end." He looks at his friend. "Wanna see if this is it?"
"Of course!" They continue along towards the city. In the city's direction storm clouds assemble themselves, ever steadily approaching the collective light.
