Soulwhirlingsomewhere

I hunted your land in sepia and smoke
desert thunder - ceremonial drums
I found your name in tribal tongue
on sandstone heaven high
I found your dreams in Indigo hues
I hunted your land of raincloud and spirit
hoping to find your soulwhirlingsomewhere.
You searched my ocean of infinite stars
silent melody of phantoms and shipwrecks
You found my name on corals deep slumber You found my dreams shattered
afloat
Yousearched my ocean of seafoam and spirit
hoping to find my soulwhirlingsomewhere
where my Rio Grande serpents Your sand
where my ink spills onto Your page
Our hearts are bound by an old, old thread
the Earth and the Sea
names like words
in future and in past
in plural and alone
the tide and the river
the wind and the stone.
