Peace in trouble

Our small boat was tossed around by the wind and waves
and we were worried. Some of us had been fishermen
and knew the dangers of such strong winds and waves.

Then we saw a weird white shape, a ghostly figure
walking on the water towards us and we all screamed
with fear as we watched the approaching figure.

Then we heard - It is me, don't be afraid, He said.
With a surge of faith I called back - Lord, if it's you,
then order me to come out on the water. Come, He said.

Well, I got out of that boat and I walked towards Him.
It would have been all right if I had kept looking to Jesus
but I felt the terrific wind. I saw the waves around Him.

I took my eyes off Jesus and began to sink but Jesus
reached out and grabbed me and soon we were in the boat.
The wind and waves calmed down. We worshipped Jesus.

Life is rather like that and we find that troubles
abound and we feel we are sinking amid it all.
Reach out to Jesus. Find peace in your troubles.

We live in troubled times. Take the hand of Jesus
and walk safely with Him over the troubles of life
and learn that no-one comforts and helps like Jesus.
