Between 1932 and 1972, the Tuskegee Syphilis Study was set up by the United States Public Health Service to observe the course of untreated syphilis in African-American men living in Macon County, Alabama. Although the men were told otherwise, no treatment was given to them, despite it being available.

So lovely, Tina.  The memories of our kids are so dear and so often when you're in the middle of being with them, it's hard to see that.  Think you've captured this in your poem. :)

A lovely title, Stephen and the whole piece seems quite experimental in a good way.  I wonder in the middle section whether there should be a slight re-edit so there's more show and less tell, but I might not be right about that.  The last line...
