A little knowledge is a dangerous thing

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. To be in full receipt of knowledge and to mislead is to cheat the vulnerable.

"It’s not over yet. A law that passed last year to set up the EU referendum said nothing about the result being binding or having any legal force. “Sovereignty” – a much misunderstood word in the campaign – resides in Britain with the “Queen in parliament”, that is with MPs alone who can make or break laws and peers who can block them. Before Brexit can be triggered, parliament must repeal the 1972 European Communities Act by which it voted to take us into the European Union – and MPs have every right, and indeed a duty if they think it best for Britain, to vote to stay."

Then there is no point in a referendum and the people have no voice because the minority, however numerous, hold sway over the majority. Where does that leave democracy? No matter how intelligent  and informed we think we are, we do not have the right to assume as individuals that we 'know best'. No my friend, we follow the democratic path or we follow no path at all. Nobody said democracy was painless, but it's all we've got and if we lose it we have nothing. Go with the vote.
