ARKADIAN SKY

These are poems which are more Fantasy than Science Fiction, with allusions to Folklore and Mythology - a bit like Pre-Raphaelite paintings, but timeless.

SKY DIVER

Sky Diver, Sky Diver, I wish I could fly with you; Where the winds whirl see him floating through - Flying, Spinning, Falling Through the blue. Splinter in the summer sky

ARKADIAN SKY

You see it, you feel it On a languid Summer's day, The longing to climb the cumulus stairways To the high blue portals of Elyseion. It is there where the roadways Of past and future meet:

CORNFIELDS

In my secret heart, how I wish We could lie Out in the cornfields Under the sky; Follow the wind As it sighs on the hill - Follow the Love that Is calling you still. Am I a dream in my own

THE LOVE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

You have found my ancient footprints in the crumbling fossil sand; You have seen embossed the moondust where our future children stand......

TOTAL ECLIPSE

His love for her is blue and gold Like the watching world she has cloaked in shadow.

THE CLOUDWATCHER

And many cloud-wrought ships glide through the night Unseen along the hoary vapour trails, Made ghostly by the pale moon-mariner ........

LAMIA

The sky is blue and silver, the Earth is gold and green; But I know of a fairer world whose wonders I have seen, I love the Lady Lamia, and she is Elfin-born;

FREEDOM?

A seagull's feather spirals From the sky, and tells to me Time's chasing him However far he'll fly; The blue is deep And infinite, and he believes He's free - Remember, Earth pulled Icarus
Cherry

TALIESIN - The lay of the Cosmic Minstrel.

The bright notes spring from the strings of silver; Wild words fall through time and space; And I will sing to this blue world's ending The songs I sang when the Earth was made.

GOD"S MANSION

You see a mansion, white-walled, High-shining on a cliff; Standing alone, so Exquisitely built, Intricately designed; And ask Who is the architect of these fair halls?

THE ONE CHOICE

Not of my choosing, mother, Nor father of my earthly form; Not of my choosing to be young or old, No other path is paved with gold Through passive quiet or destructive storm.

PENELOPE

Far to the cities of the sun The hero's gone; Shining his sails on the salt sea. Always the wind calls after me, Ten long years beyond I see, Years that flee - I know not where he wanders.

FUTURE LOVE

Wide the world and deep the sky, Tomorrow is as yet - The Love that I have chosen Never have I met. Trembling the leaves as they fall from the tree - For fear that I ask of them
