A few months ago when Martin Amis was giving interviews on his book.
I am not against Martin Amis. I don't know much about his views, but I
did think he vaguely came close to supporting an idea that has been
annoying me. He spoke of how utopians are filled with hate. This
annoyed me because it articulated to me a growing problem of many
people who commit serious abuses. They seem to hate you for being
abused. Amis seemed to say that all Utopians were filled with hate.
What annoyed me about that comment was that he said it as if that
dismissed all Utopians and all people who hate abuse. It is horrifying
to me that abusers are so arrogant that they think hating them makes
you hate filled but if they hate then a you are normally dehumanised
scum to them then they decide that doesn't mean they hate
anything.
There is nothing wrong with hating being abused. There is nothing wrong
with hating abusers. All very well to go on about forgiveness, but when
you start hasting and dismissing victims of abuse and their views
because they have natural responses of hatred to their abusers, or the
poverty, or negative situation they are in then that is sick and awful.
This is not specifically a critic of Amis, as I have noticed many other
bullies, or abusers have got the idea the being the one filled with
hate makes you the bad guy automatically.
Being hate filled is normally a response to some sort of abuse and they
idea of dismiss someone's views because they are hate filled is insane,
and rather nasty. If you look at victims of child abuse, bullying, many
other forms of abuse or injustice they are often haste filled driven to
despair by some abuse, mental illness or situation. It is sick to me
that Amis or any abuser would dismiss someone for being hate
filled.
Many Utopians just want the sort of things other people take for
granted. Many communists just wanted a decent good standard of life,
they don't expect something unrealistic.
All I am saying is abusers should stop thinking their victims are the
bad guys for hating being abused. If your victim hates you that's you
fault not there's.
I am not specifically against Amis, I am not a communist it is just
that he vaguely articulated a philosophy that has been annoying me that
of abusers hating their victims of hating them. There is noting wrong
with hated being the emotion that caused you political ideology what
matters is what you hate.
