Does everyone do it?

Why is it the "Everyone does it" excuse has started growing again as
a justification for committing abuse. You name any evil and you'll find
loads of people who commit that evil, using the nonsensical excuse
"Everyone does it". Racism, bullying, car robbery, burglary,
paedophilia, people who committed serious human rights abuses in the
Yugoslav wars and the holocaust, rape, infidelity, fancying evil men.
No matter what evil it is there will be people who committed that abuse
saying everyone does it as if it justifies what they did.
I first noticed this when a kid when I saw a TV programme of adults
talking about bullying. Bullying wrecked my school and university life,
it's as serious as paedophilia or rape, it causes suicides, life long
depression, wrecks lives, it is often murder. Yet I noticed loads of
adults would say well everyone's done a bit of bullying, as if it made
it OK. I didn't bully I knew loads of people who didn't but as we were
meaningless scum to bullies, they decided we weren't real people so
they decided that as their fellow evil pals bullied that everyone was
therefore a bully. So in their logic that made their abuse OK. To me
the Everyone does it argument is a rubbish excuse attempting to
trivialise abuse by saying we all did it so let's pretend where
magnanimous for forgiving ourselves for wrecking other people's lives,
in an alliance of abusers agreeing that they didn't do something wrong.
So even when they feel a tinge of guilt they can gather round and tell
themselves there's nothing wrong with being a bully. It's like
paedophiles agreeing that forgiving each other makes their abuse
acceptable, without even bothering to remember it's their victims who
suffered.
Exactly the same thing happens with snobbery. I heard a radio four
discussion show about snobbery where one of the panellists said
everyone's a snob. Once again that is utter nonsense. The problem is
bullies tend to be pals with bullies and regard everyone else as
dehumanised scum so that as their bullying pals agree with them they
think everyone does the form of abuse they commit.
There is virtually no evil where there has not been someone who commits
the abuse who then says well everyone does it. In fact this excuse
often leads off to a state where you're regarded as weird (weirdness is
the biggest sin a bully's view) for not abusing people. After the
Serbian - Bosnian War where many Serbian men used rape as a weapon of
war. A BBC documentary team went to Bosnia to interview Serbs who
committed offences. Numerous men admitted they had raped women, but
then said everyone did it. Yet those men didn't seem to notice that
other men had not raped. Why was it some good men had not felt because
lots of men were abusing people that made it ok, yet the evil abusers
felt that would work as an excuse.
The excuse even reaches burglary. A few months ago a film got on my
nerves for this reason, it was a film starring Will Smith and Gene
Hackman where the Will Smith character said after being robbed well we
all did stuff like this when we were kids, and then his pal says "Yeah
we did". Well I didn't hardly anyone does.
I even overheard car thieves of my own age going on about how everyone
robs cars. Why can't they understand very few people rob cars.
Even with infidelity I remember hearing recently someone on a TV
programme saying 95\% of men would have affairs if offered. Well that's
rubbish, less than half would but the bullies who do horrible things,
are so confident because they abuse people and don't care, and scare
their victims into not replying, that no one has the guts to say you're
not in the majority you're evil and even if you were in the majority
you'd still be evil.
Recently I heard Melvyn Bragg's Thursday radio four programme an
interview with a man who has written nothing but racist snooty nosed
pro bullying evil propaganda novels saying that everyone is a racist.
It was a nonsensical statement, but he felt that as he was a racist,
and all his pals were racist then everyone must be racist.
Women who fancy bad boys always think every women fancies and boys, and
supports people abusing other people. When it is just them and their
evil pals that get sexually aroused by evil men.
There are numerous reasons for the everyone does it excuse one is to
say everyone does it so it doesn't matter, so they can trivialise the
serious abuse and carry on committing it pretending it doesn't matter,
another is that by saying everyone does it, they can all gather
together as abusers and agree amongst themselves, and bully their
victims to accept, that they are really forgiving people for forgiving
themselves and fellow abusers for forgiving their own serious abuse.
Then there's the other more common reason for the everyone does it
excuse, one of hatred of weirdoes. Alot of bullies and abusers hate
weirdoes as a person who get's bullied for that reason in hate that
gets on my nerves. I get labelled as a weirdo for being shy, quiet
having a funny voice, finding it almost impossible to talk to people,
most bullies hate weirdoes more than anything else you can imagine, in
fact they have no sympathy for any weirdness, as in being shy, but
expect unbelievable levels of forgiveness for their own evils of
bullying and other abuse. The thing is this hatred of weirdoes, causes
the phrase everyone does it to be a way of making the evil abuse seem
like the positive action as at least it isn't weird. Therefore that
classifies the abuse as normal and anyone who doesn't commit the abuse
as weirdo, which they hate, and to them the weirdoes are the real
immoral, bizarre creepy, dangerous people.
Bullies always try to bully you into thinking your view is sad and
their view is the only one that counts, they make you feel like scum
they get other people to see you as sad weird scum so that anything you
say is seen as diseased weird rubbish. Bullies are ruthless evil people
no evil should be tolerated on the basis that a majority of people do
it.
