The Snorosaurus
Tonight I'd like to share with you
A very special secret
But I'm only able to carry on
If you promise that you can keep it.
It's all about shy little creature
That no one else knows exists
For he really is a private soul
And on secrecy I must insist!
So do you, young man, solemnly promise
To keep this just between us?
Good, then now I can tell you
All about the Snorosaurus&;#8230;
The Snorosaurus lives in children's bedrooms
All across the land
No one sees him go about his ways
But for some reason I can.
He has a bright orange belly and a dark blue back
And is ever so, ever so small
Even when standing up on tiptoes
He measures just one inch tall.
His eyes are big and black and round
And he has a long and twitching nose
He's covered in a coat of thick fluffy fur
From his head down to his toes.
The Snorosaurus only leaves his den
In the middle of the night
And he always takes very special care
To stay hidden out of your sight.
He comes out when he's hungry
And wants a tasty snack to eat
He sneaks around the bedroom floor
On his big flat furry feet
He may stop to nibble on your comfy pillow
Or munch upon your curtain
But of the Snorosaurus's favourite food
I can tell you I am quite certain
Because what he really, really loves
As strange as it may seem
Is to feast away on lots of scrummy
Little children's scary dreams
He hunts them down wherever they lurk
He's as quiet as can be
Then he pounces and pins them down
Between his furry feet.
And once they're caught and can't escape
Trapped in his the grip of his paws
He closes his eyes and opens his mouth
And a big deep breath he draws
Then through his long and twitching snout
He starts to slurp and suck
Until all the bad and nasty dreams
Have all been eaten up
Now this unusual diet is of course
Quite helpful to you and me
Since every nightmare the Snorosaurus eats
For us means one less bad dream
But there is unfortunately a downside
To this nocturnal feast
And this relates to the manner in which
The Snorosaurus eats.
You see, sucking bad dreams in the dead of night
Through a long thin and furry mouth
Creates a terribly noisy sound
That can be heard throughout the house.
So if you ever wake up in the dead of night
Because you thought you heard someone snore
Just remember who may be eating bad dreams
And what that noise is for!
The End
