F=But Dust

from the ABC set Unordered Tales

We all hear the vaporous whispers

Melt on corpses latent tongue

Histories lesson's volatise, on pages

Our only hope, enlightening the young

Ashamed and blemished by our species

Man's intolerance, quakes its underthrust

Waning truth, respect, humanity

We prey to inert God's and trust

To dust

Each new dawn another atrocity

When will we befall immune

Peace and understanding

Can never come to soon

Everyone has the answers

As we die a little everyday

An annihilation plague of man's creation

The counter, so near and yet, so far away

Greed, religion, and supremacy plights its cause as just

Time is ticking its early warning

We need to readjust

To dust

Spiralling into obilvion

We lock our doors and pray illusion will secure

Avoiding streets of crime and bloodshed

Tell our children to do more

Conscious free and opportunity its companion

Outcome, only ever hindering at its heel

It tempests oceans of destruction

As we pray in ancient stone and kneel

Looking to the heavens for a counter

As its storm disperses legacy of distrust

Headed to our destiny's

With all that we entrust

But dust
