"Clean and Calm"
In the 24 hour light glare of this place,
pain is not found in the shadows.
Fear is a lonely thing and tastes of nothing,
but leaves your mouth dry.
When they come with the needle, it's really okay to cry.
Mostly we don't.
It's not appropiate somehow,
when everything is so clean.
To hold on to God's hand when there is a scream longing to come from
everywhere out of you, can seem impossible.
But afterwards,
in the chemical calm,
you trust,
you hope,
He was always there.
