Well, I looked in my wardrobe
for a clean shirt and it was filled
with blazing golden light where
my shirts had been -
Lit up the whole bedroom!
I tell you - I've never been vain but
when I put on those shimmering robes
I have to admit I looked pretty good
in that full-length mirror
Wife and kids could hardly believe it!
"Your Dad is golden harmonies
of all men's lives," my wife explained
"The billion histories of saints and sunsets
shining down the gallery of ages -
Now, what do you want for tea?"
"Clouds of evening shall be our meat," said the kids
and trembling dusk shadows our wine!"
The man next door looked up
from trimming his privets, then continued.
Ours is a quiet neighbourhood.
