Oh Djinn

The Djinn
This is penned for when I sinned
To all mankind for love of Djinn
Sun bright days, stuck inside
Obsessed with worlds that others made
Untold riches from off world systems
And hidden gold in dank, dark dungeons
And now my time has been slowly spent
On wondering where my life's youth went
I remember rising, getting dressed
Glance to the corner and my vested interest
Whiling hours away in trance
manoeuvring troops for an attack on France
And all the time sinking deeper
Our roles were changed the Djinn was keeper
Of myself and all my thoughts
Of life itself and all it brought
There's nothing better than electronic wealth
As I sank deeper inside myself
Now I look back twenty years
At all my hopes and all my fears
I see that it was just an obsession
The computer's means of soul possession
By Jeremy J.B. Hughes.
