has so much to offer
with umpteen
choices and hopefully
wise ones. Thank
goodness for forgiveness
that abounds.
In the twilight of our years
friends seem to pop
off like balloons
at an afternoon pace.
There goes Percy
used to foster children --
remember his smile
and the sound
of his chuckling
more like the trills
of Autumn
and William who always
caught largest of trout
now he swims
in a new direction.
Even my buddy Steve
found something
that squeezed
the life from his once
robust frame –
gone to somewhere else
family left behind
and I miss his foibles
his laughter
that fiery friendship.
