The Lion of Summer has a long golden mane
and reclines, at his leisure, on a broad azure plain;
he pounces upon herds of white woolly clouds
and the thunder of Summer is him roaring aloud
but in spite of his fierce face of bright golden flame,
he is kind and he’s gentle and perfectly tame
for he reaches out long golden paws everywhere
only to stroke, softly, our skin and our hair.
