Isn't It Always The Way&;#063;

Some people make collections
of antique art or stamps;
Of coins or books or rubbings,
or 18th century lamps.
Some people start to save things
out of avarice or greed.
I've spent my life collecting things
that someday I might need.
I have cupboards full of pickle jars
and tins with plastic lids,
and gadgets that were useful once
(whatever it was they did);
I have miles and miles of bits of string
all rolled up in a ball,
And as long as I know where they are
I'll never need them at all.
But when my closets get too full
I go through all the stuff,
And throw out what I think
I have been saving long enough.
No matter when I do this
I know one thing is for sure:
The next day I'll need something
I threw out the day before!
