He has a secret
so powerful it kills him,
but she wants to know,
the thing is
he said he'd tell her anything,
but somethings you just can't say
not to anyone
this was one of those things.
It wasn't about him
and it wasn't about her,
it wasn't about their familys
or their friends,
what it was he won't ever say,
all anyone knows is
he lets it eat him inside
to protect her.

You don't have to apologise, Andrew! I really love this - it's beautiful in its simplicity. I can feel the pain of the narrator and can also relate to this more than I'd like to admit. Well done ;)
