Consequences

from the ABC set second chance

She married him,
dear reader,
down the line.
The red dress, park
bench, his call,
all were mine.
"He never,ever knew",
she laughed,
"that first
night I was you."
I wonder,some,
over what
was never ever
missed. I saw her
life,girls come
and go,he never,ever
knew who it was
he kissed.

(What went before;)

Meet me at the park bench” he said
“and while you’re at it,wear the red
dress I spotted you in, it’s a treat.”
Then hung up. Dead. That was it.
I’d had enough of men like that,
I sent my friend instead.
