Double Decker

from the ABC set Poetry

I'll fight another battle here today
I feel like screaming every time I see your face
Waiting for another double decker
My eyes cast down in constant fear of you

There are times I think your shadow
Lurks right behind me
Insanity is eating at my
State of mind
Waiting for another double decker
I maintain a faked façade
Of nonchalance

Save me from this crushing doubt
Or else I fear,
I'll remember what we were about
Waiting for another double decker
I shift from foot to foot like a sprinter
At the blocks

Insistent paranoia haunts my mind
To avoid you, I'll do anything
Waiting for another double decker
This bus is going to be
My sole escape
