Mona Lisa Smile
A face that has survived the disease of time,
Created by the man, who drew the modern world,
The only man who understood this life
And drew it all, in the face of a girl.
Her haunted black hair, and deadly piercing stare
I sit in awe, all the while,
You can't escape, her all knowing eyes
And her unexplainable smile.
The smile that can read your own very thoughts,
A smile which has died a thousand times over
A smile which laughs at human efforts,
To hold on to morals, and our lucky clover.
For she knows what happens after life,
And she knows were doing it all wrong
We have never come close to describing heaven
In books, poems or song.
For she knows our minds, our souls and our love,
And she knows that were weak and she pities,
For soon we will have no world to enjoy,
And he's creation will be covered in cities.
All the sad souls of the unloved,
All the hungry stomachs in her eyes,
All the sweetness of the innocent,
All the knowledge of the wise.
Only in one face, one smile
You can find all of this,
Although simple though it seems at first
It is a sight that you shouldn't miss.
