Questions for a Tube Train
What do you think,
When you burrow along?
Do you think,
'No, not more people?'
'I just can't go on.'
Do you think of the lateness,
The meetings they miss,
Do you smile at announcements?
Or live in a dust of oblvious bliss?
Where's all your patience,
For most of the track?
Are quick shutting doors,
A form of pay-back?
Oh Underground tube,
Do you pine for the sky?
When next in your carriage,
I'll keep a small eye,
On your efforts and dreams,
That strain through the day,
I appreciate moaning,
In my commuterish way.
