Recreating Majik!!??

All you movie buffs out there must have realised the topic of my blog by now........yes, indeed! i am gonna talk about the remakes...Don and UmraoJaan......the two great movies....both classic....hits during it's time....Is it really possible to live up to that kind of expectation?.....we shall see.
Those who are fan's of Big B and his movie.......are sure to be disappointed .....i mean Farhan Akthar is a good director....and the remake Don is a hit....still running in the theatres......it is a technically sound movie!!....a very high tech movie..more keeping in line with the tastes of the multiplex audience....but somehow fails to recreate the age old charm of the earlier version that kept even the lower class audience on the edge of their seats..Sad but true! Not to forget our Hero Bachchan Saab who is a legend in himself....though i like Shahukh Khan i have no doubt that he had taken up a very unrealistic feat.....trying to achieve Big B's heights has an actor and entertainer.
Now.....lets get to the next attempt by the present film makers to relive the magic with UmraoJaan....though it had a good star cast with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai....who have managed to look unspeakably beautiful as usual and also put up a good acting for the second half of the movie....yet it also fell short of expectations!!
In my opinion.....no surprise there.....how can one ever forget Rekha who brought life to the character of Ameeran in the earlier version of UmraoJaan.
Other movie ...... a remake to soon make an appearance is the Legendary Mega Hit " Sholay".....now this movie has also an surprising twist in that the Hero of the earlier Version will play the role of Gabbar Singh in the movie!!! Now...we'll see how that works out.......
If you ask me....it is really hard ..near to impossible to recreate the magic..of these kind of mega movies that were classic hits during their time...not to forget the star cast it had....Maybe there is a way out..if you change the script to such an extent that it a new movie in itself...just keep the frame .....or background the same....and try not to emulate the great actors of that time..Be an original....do a song, dance or a scene in one's own way..then perhaps..there could be a chance....who!! Knows???
