Souvenir
Of long standing,
That hat from Yarmouth Pier,
It fought the Indians at Mundesley,
Raced at Monte Carlo,
And won a beacon of Cromer chips,
That happened to be frying nearby,
Never thought of it as a souvenir,
Knowing that a hundred other kids,
Braved the Alamo,
The felt pushed firmly on their heads,
Not to matter at all because,
I didn't meet them,
Unless they were hiding,
On the deck of the Millenium Falcon,
At the coast near Wells-next-to-sea.
