Cast overboard from a vessel in the middle of the ocean swimming for
hours to reach a shore, any shore. Swimming and swimming until your
arms burn, then they don't feel like arms anymore. They don't feel like
anything at all. Finally, just when you think to give up let yourself
drown, you let yourself sink, and your feet touch ground. I am
currently wading in from sea, armless, tired and glad I can see the
sand.
