Waterloo Bridge Explanation
'Sit spark upright,
You won't be able to see,
There's Big Ben and parliament,
There's the National Theatre,
Festival of Britain,
Concrete has weathered away'
'Can't see,
What's Big Ben?
Is that a big bear?
Eating bananas by the river?
Does concrete fall with the rain?
Is that why there's so much about?'
'No, Waterloo Bridge
Was named after the ABBA song,
And Big Ben's a gorilla not a bear,
Oh yes and concrete does fall from the sky,
And when it hails,
Lamp posts fall with their beam already shining, to light the way
ahead.'
