BRAND NEW DAY
Flowers patterned thy carpet of fields.
Proud armies of color,
Each with embossed shields.
*
As rain caressed the petals,
Suns rays stung the nettles,
Ambience of piece settled around.
*
Trees stood placid almost locked in time,
While others swayed from the winds play.
Sheathed in amounts of clouds perspiration,
Welcoming in the day.
*
Dandelion seeds harnessed the furl,
Blown velvety about,
Like small delicate pearls.
*
Some landed onto spiders silver threads,
Looking like bizarre skin,
The creature shed.
*
Barbed wire bore,
The scars of escape.
Fur pirouetted like streamer tape.
*
Then as if the hex was broken,
Animals leisurely appeared,
Almost as if above had spoken.
*
It was the start of a brand new day.
