Rose and Phoebe's Garden

from the ABC set Away with the Faeries.

Years ago I made a Dell,
a Fairy Dell,
at the bottom of my garden.
I placed a house,
a little house,
for a little person’s pleasure.
I placed a Rose of Pink,
a Rose of White,
and another one of Purple.
A paper Moon
and Butterflies
a golden pond for Dragonflies,
whose wings of shimmering majestic hues
danced boldly in a dream.
A wind chime tinkled a silvery tune
that floats upon a Summer breeze,
and roundabout a picket fence
To keep out non-believers.
But now the windchimes rusted brown
are tangled and hang silent
the rosehips sway on barron stems
and Butterflies are absent,
the pond once golden turned to green
and weeds replaced the flowers
and children grown have flown the nest
leaving memories of laughter.

i really like this, it has all the colours and feelings and simplicity of a child's garden. I really liked the "wind chime tinkles a silvery tune".
