A long hot day as I lay
The sun's rays will make me pay.
My skin starting to get sore
As I still beg for more.
Now my skin is turning red
If I lay much longer, I'm sure I'll be dead.
People lay all around
On there own piece of private ground.
As my body begins to sweat
I think it's time to take a rest.
So to my feet I do stand
And start to walk along the sand.
As the water washes over my feet.
It starts to protect me from the heat.
I start to walk out into the sea
Till the water washes over me.
So I swim around
not hearing a single sound.
As the people start to make haste
With no time to waste.
They make it to the shore
But I'm not sure.
I still don't hear a single sound
Now they start to wave and shout
And I am wondering, what's it? all about.
I see the water ripple
I make the shape of a fin.
If only I had decided not to swim
