Swallow My Pride

from the ABC set Poems

Swallow my pride
Hide my say behind a smile
Wear a mask to make you happy
Never tell you how I feel
Keep quiet about what I know
Remind myself that I’ve said it before
Repeat in my head that you know what you’re doing
Chant over again “Hold your tongue”
Try not to shove my foot in my mouth
Worry only in the dead of night
Do not let the fear show
Breathe to keep from going insane
Fail as I sink to the floor

Really like your poetry style (this one is sad!). I write poetry myself and look forward to reading more of yours.

I like this; hope it's not autobiographical.

I like this too. I think many people will identify with it. Well done:) sarah x
