As Janus looked back as well as forward
so January became for me;
at the crossroads of my life,
I looked back
knowing I must be free.
My fight would be sad, painfully long
frighteningly hard to bare;
I thought of giving up
continuing,
to go on suffering there.
The face I showed the world wore contentment,
yet deep inside I was raw;
my private face was etched with living hell
a face no-one ever saw.
So January saw my rebellion
almost a life time had gone;
I rejected his jealous ranting rages;
escaped,
ran away,
hurried on.
Two years passed alone carefree, content,
then I met you
my destiny;
on that other magic January day
so irrevocable;
don’t you see?
You became my way forward my future,
you transformed me,
made my true face appear
smiling, radiant;
all because of you
my beloved one
so dear.
