Comfort
To look upon my darling’s face
brings endless comfort to my soul
its countenance so full of grace.
To look upon my darling’s face
brings eagerness for his embrace
his loving, caring, makes me whole.
To look upon my darling’s face
brings endless comfort to my soul.
Red and Blue
The air is blue around my head
swirling like a sapphire vapour.
Profane his tongue, I’ve always said
the air is blue around my head.
It always leaves me seeing red
as crimson as Christmas paper.
The air is blue around my head
Swirling like a sapphire vapour
Crazy
People like to think me crazy
can’t comprehend my sense of fun,
one thing that I’m not is lazy.
People like to think me crazy
idiotic, daft as Daisy
bringing pleasure, then I’m done.
People like to think me crazy
can’t comprehend my sense of fun.
The Vote
My politics are so remote
I cannot bring myself to choose
a candidate for whom to vote
my politics are so remote.
Each lie they utter gets my goat
so in the end it’s I who lose.
My politics are so remote
I cannot bring myself to choose.

I like the sound of this, Val. Even if it was in a foreign language and the words meant nothing to me, the sound would carry it through. Thank you for a nice start to my saturday.

I may not have your knowledge, with regard to poetic forms but I do know what I like and this is such! This form seems to have a lilt, that makes reading it (especially aloud) particularly pleasant. Thanks for the education!
