are the rats
the others have been put here
by the council
to make us excited
about nature
There are water-boatmen
but they are not men
and they do not have boats
Michael scoops one out of the pond
and puts it in Sophie’s hair
and now it is not even in water

Ever since this was posted it's been at the back of my mind. My kids like playing around by ponds and it's just so spot on and efficient with words.
